Well, here comes another May...

We recently inhabited our new house, so I've got a garden going again for the
first time in many years. Feels good!

The major problem is lack of any organic material to work with in our
moonscape of a yard. I'm substituting peat moss and will hopefully have some
compost in a couple of months. I'm gonna use a bit of chemical fertilizer
this year, for lack of anything else! After this year I shouldn't need it.

Radishes, lettuce, spinach, carrots, onions are all in. Broc, cabbage, tomato
seedlings are sprouted indoors, still waiting on the peppers. A bunch of
squash-like things will go in the ground in about 3 weeks.

Back in the dirt and loving it...

Still no water at the community gardens, so we are hauling by buckets.
the onions and cole crops thrived even after being dumped on by two
feet of heavy, wet snow, a rarity in CO.

Truck farming the tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants to harden them off
(You truck them outin the morning, and in at night)

Planted shallots, snow peas chard, arugula and raddichio this weekend.
Lake seeds seem to be very proud of their product. I barely got two
feet of raddichio seed, and I don't start it in flats. I will look at
the packets next time for quanity.

Soon as we have reliabel water, the remay comes out so I can start
    carrots, and seed cole-crops.

Hee hee... a little early for that here yet. We had a good, hard frost this
morning out my way, probably will get a couple more. I'm gonna start
hardening off in a week or two.
