We just got our hands on a hand-me-down LPS17 with 16MB of memory. We have
access to a handful of simms but don't know what kind the LPS17 uses or
where/how to install them. The only manual still around is the users
guide which has no information about hw configs etc...
Help!

The lps 17 comes in two flavors. 300 dpi and 600 dpi. The 300 dpi
requires memory with parity, the 600 doesn't care. There is a logo
to the lower right of the cassetts that tells if it is a 600. There is
a power switch and LED in the same place if it is a 300. The memory
sims can be either 4 or 8 meg, but must be at least 60 n sec. if you
are mixing 4 & 8 meg simms, install the higher capacity simm in the
lower numbered socket.
