    	I'd like to get the LPS V5.1 kit for Digital Unix, but 
    	don't have a machine with decnet. Is there somewhere I can

DCPS T1.4-5 (EFT2) is now available.  This field test release is for both
Digital internal and external users.  *PLEASE*, however, do not distribute
any of these kits to customers.  We have some external test sites selected,
are working licensing issues with them, etc.

The following information is specific to Digital internal users.

We would appreciate it if you would provide us with some information about
your configuration.  Please fill out the environment profile listed at the
following web site:  http://klunky.mro.dec.com/scripts/cpftweb/dcpsft.htm

Any problems should be reported in the "DCPS" QAR database, which you can
access by logging into node HANNAH using username QAR.  If you have a critical

either the DCPS VAX or Alpha kit to your system.  The documentation that
was provided in T1.4-4 (EFT1) is in the process of being revised.  I will

     Use the following procedure to install the T1.4-5 field
     test kit:

     1. Download the kit or mount the distribution media

     2. Enter the following command from a privileged ac-
        count:

           $ @SYS$UPDATE:VMSINSTAL DCPSxxxINTT5 device:[directory]

        where xxx stands for the type of system you use:

        o  AXP for an Alpha system

        o  VAX for a VMS system

 

     New Features and Changes

     The following new features are provided by DCPS V1.4:

     o  Communication with printers via Raw TCP/IP Sockets

     o  Support for the following printers:

           HP LaserJet 4MV
           HP LaserJet 5M
           HP LaserJet 5SiMX
           Lexmark Optra Rt+

     o  Automatic stopping and restarting of active DCPS
        queues during installation

     o  Support for Cisco MultiNet for OpenVMS Software for
        IP connectivity

     o  Revised hardcopy documentation

     DCPS V1.4 also includes some bug fixes for previous
     versions, and now requires a minimum OpenVMS version of
     6.1.

     Changes Since Previous Field Test Version

     The following changes were made between DCPS T1.4-4 and
     T1.4-5.

     o  Added .PLI and .PAS file types to
        DCPS$FILE_EXTENSION_DATA_TYPE.DAT_DEFAULT.

     o  Fixed so that dotted IP addresses for PrintServers
