Several of my machines have developed a problem of late. All of these machines have Plus! installed and run scandisk from within the System Agent according to its schedule. These runs eventually fail, reporting as a last result in the SystemAgent window "Check was stopped because of an error". Opening the SystemAgent Advanced pulldown to View Log shows as a Result on the offending runs "Check was stopped because of an error(255)". All of the machines will run an interactive scandisk w/o errors, before and after, the SystemAgent's runs that reported an error. It may be a SystemAgent error perhaps? I am unable to locate this class of error, or the `255' anywhere in the documentation. Any ideas? thanks, Bruce

I had this problem also. Running SCANDISK from W95 showed no problems. For grins, I decided to shut windows down to DOS mode and run SCANDISK this way. Guess what? It found lots of errors and fixed them. System Agent runs worked from then on. | |||||

Microsoft Plus! for Windows 95
SYMPTOMS
When a program performs a floating-point
calculation, the result may be incorrect.
CAUSE
This problem can occur if System Agent
(Sage.exe) is running.
This problem is known to affect the following
programs:
Borland Paradox for Windows versions 5.0
and 5.0a
When you use the Paradox ObjectPAL
Number() function to convert a string to a floating-point number, the
value
returned to the function is slightly
different than the string value. For example, if you pass the string
"6.136" to the
function, the value 6.136000000000000011
is returned. Note that this problem does not occur if System Agent is
not
running.
RESOLUTION

Sage.dll file that corrects this problem. The new Sage.dll file is
