As far as I have heard 2.4 should work on the OpenVMS VAX/Alpha 7.1
release.

And in fact it does. Learning the hard way is, however, a double edged
sword. It was touch-and-go on-site when we tested it, but all their
FMS based programs worked quite well. Thanks!
