7368.0. "PW 6.0, Async DECnet, Win 3.1 VXD partner exited" by VMSNET::L_GULICK (Lew Gulick) Wed Mar 19 1997 00:32
Customer has:
	486 notebook
	DOS 6.2
	Win 3.1
	PCMCIA Hayes modem card
	16550 UART
	PATHWORKS for DOS and Windows V6.0
	Async DECnet configuration
She runs startnet, uses sethost to connect to a VAX server/router, switches
line to DDCMP, etc., and everything works fine from DOS. She can connect
to network drives and send data both ways.
When she starts Windows, she gets the message:
	Unexpected error while switching on DLLASYNC
	VXD partner exited
Network drives are disconnected, no new ones can be made in Windows.
Speed 9600 or 2400 makes no difference. Control panel - network shows
pw 4.1 and the V6 connection interface.
Anybody ever see this or know what it might be?

Update on this:
Actual error message is:
	Unexpected error while switching on DLLASYNC VXD partner
There is a stars article which points to setting:
        -Click on the MAIN groupbox
          -->'Control Panel'
             -->'Enhanced'
                -->'Device Contention: Never Warn'
This has been done with no change.
Also found that the PCMCIA card is a Hayes Optima 28.8 V.34+FAX
and requires a driver in config.sys called EZBAUD.
What is the dllasync vxd partner referring to?
