I need some help with the operation of an ALC meter
on a Kenwood TS690. Can anyone explain how it works. The
manual doesn't explain it very well at all. If you have
one of these rigs, maybe we can talk and compare notes.
I do like it very much, but I'm not clear on the ALC and
think there may be a problem with it.
Thanks, paul

If the 690 is similar to the 430, the ALC should only kick up on voice
peaks on ssb. I think there is a point at around 2/3 scale on the meter
that voice peaks should not exceed. IT is frequency sensitive. I can
check my manual tonight if you think it will help more.
