this note's a bit old, but...
I think this is close to impossible.
aside from the swap area (which is settable), there are many files
which are written back to disk which include:
copies of the registry, bootlog files, .ini and .gid files, .tmp files,
and a host of other files that I'm sure I missed.
I believe that any PC operating system pretty well assumes that a
writeable (book) is a given.
Anyone is welcome to disagree, but I believe the above is correct. It
ain't doo-able.
