| | What version of VMS? Probably the only thing you need to do is to
enable MOP and obtain the DS100 image. netrix::/usr/lin/mop/ps0801eng.sys

|  |     Sarah,

    you would have to install the DECserver 100 software and run @DSVCONFIG
    to create an entry in the DECnet node database for the DECserver (you
    need to specify a DECnet nodename & number and the hardware address of
    the DECserver (08-00-2b-...). Then you need to enable MOP on your
    DECnet ethernet circuit (MC NCP DEF CIR xxx-0 SERVICE ENABLED for
    DECnet IV; for DECnet/OSI see NET$LOGICALS.COM/.TEMPLATE for the
    NET$MOP logical).

    If you want to use LAT to connect to your OpenVMS Alpha machine from
    the DECserver100, you need to invoke @SYS$STARTUP:LAT$STARTUP from system
    startup, to start the LAT protocol.

    Volker.

    PS: LAT is the name of the protocol 'Local Area Transport', the
        DECserver 100 is called a 'Terminal Server'.

| 4946.3 | thankx much!!... will ds2033 support the 100? | CAM::JOHNSON | imagine... sharing all the world | Thu Feb 20 1997 09:01 | 17 |
|  | hi,
thankx to both of you for the info... the notes conferences are the only thing
that keeps me thinking digital/dec can stay alive...
OVMS version is 6.2
i'm setting up everything as described... except:
>> you would have to install the DECserver 100 software and run @DSVCONFIG
i could only find ds2033. 25020, 3a020, 5022, 7a011 and 9a011
kits on the con-dist... i am checking the spd's to see if any support the
100 (i thought the 200 did)...
if not, do you know where i can find the 100 kits?
thankx again,
sarah

| 4946.4 | DS100 sw isn't on CDroms... | HAN::HALLE | Volker Halle MCS @HAO DTN 863-5216 | Thu Feb 20 1997 10:05 | 12 |
|  |     Sarah,

    I don't think you'll find the DS100 sw on the CDs. Try the file pointer
    given in .1 or try the IROCZ::TERMINAL_SERVERS notes file.

    All you 'really' need is the P*ENG.SYS file and the NCP commands,
    something like:

    $ MC NCP DEF NODE dsv100 addr x.x service circ xxx-0 -
    	hardware address 08-00-2b-... load file MOM$LOAD:P...ENG.SYS

    Volker.
