3625.0. "AppleTalk Illegal Cable Range [1...65534]" by CSC32::ROSS (Mitchell A. Ross) Mon May 05 1997 17:51
    Hello,

    AppleTalk issue here - two DECnis nodes - each operating as a seed
    router with cable range of 100...115 on FDDI circuit F621-4-0, zone
    "production"

    If one of the NISes is shut down, suddently the AppleTalk network range
    as reported in the status block is [1...65534], while the manual
    network range remains [100...115]

    Since Inside AppleTalk V2 declares that the startup range is
    [65280...65534] and is not to be used or overlap any other cable range,
    we have a problem just on this issue alone. Also, since the FDDI
    circuit is now broadcasting a cable range which overlaps all other
    circuits (fddi, ethernet, etc) we have a routing issue in general where
    nothing is getting anywhere.

    Apparently, there are no other AppleTalk routers on the network, so any
    ideas ?
