Hi
Class 1 VLANs (port specific) are supported with SW version V1.6 on
DECswitch/PESwitch/Fiberswitch coming soon.
Is the following configuration valid ?
DECSW900EF ====== FDDI ====== DECSW900EF
| | | | | |
| | | | | |
LAN A B B A B B
LAN A and B on both sites are broadcast domains, a packet from lan A
can only reach lan A on either side.
Questions:
1. Can anyone give me a pointer to technical documentation about
Class 1 VLANS. (how dose a switch know to which port or vlan a
broadcast packet belongs if received from fddi) ?
2. Is a system directly connected to the FDDI supported ?
3. Is it possible to connect a server system to VLAN B but with higher
speed than 10MBit/s (FDDI,100Base-T) ?
4. If question 3. is no, when will it be possible ?
Thanks
Andreas
