| | >> ... is a DECrepeater 90 FS/TS capable of bus mastering.

    Yes.

    >> ... is a DECbridge 90 (or DA 90) still necessary.

The DA90 is not still necessary to manage the repeaters. The DB90 is
still necessary if you want to have a bridge function.

    >> ... are DR 90T, 90C, 90FA manageable such a way

Yes, the 90TS/90FS can managed repeaters.

    >> In summary is the DEChub90 strictly equivalent, on the management
    >> side, to the Multistack (with exception of slot restrictions).

Yes, it is. The multistack is essentially a distributed DEChub 90.

| | re:-1
do you mean that the autodiscovery function on FS/TS in DEChub90 works
 for 90TL ,90M ,Routeabout, DECpacketprobe ? or you need an Agent90 ?

| | The DECrepeaters 90TS and 90FS will _autodiscover_ all of the modules
listed in 2820.2. (This assumes that the DECserver 90TL has a recent
    software image that supports autodiscovery.)

You do need a DECagent 90, however, to _manage_ any 90 module other
    than a repeater.

| 2820.7 | This is how as I did it. | TROFS::WEBSTER | NIS, London, Canada | Tue Oct 17 1995 09:24 | 20 |
| | I recently upgraded serveral 90TS/FS with the latest code to support
	hub management.
In order to make the TS/FS module the bus master, it must be placed
in slot 7 or 8, then use the HUBwatch to select the module. Select
community and manage current. In the lower right corner will be the
bus master configuration. Select the module to be bus master and
in the pull-down window, select DEChub 90. The module will reset
and when selected again as current agent, the whole backplane will
be seen. My demo hub has DR90C, DR90TS, DS90M, Dbr90T2, Packetprobe
	and DB90. All became visable.
Once this was done, I am able to place the TS/FS in any slot I want
	and still see full management.
Thanx to the HUBwatch/DEChub module engineering team for this cost-
saving enhancement. I can now easily sell DEChub 90's in to small
sites without the added cost of the DECagent.
