2282.0. "Spares held by MCS?" by NYOSS1::PLUNKETT () Tue May 16 1995 11:33
    This isn't strictly a hub question, but maybe somebody can help me.
    I have a nervous customer who has migrated their LAN to a single
    Hub900, and is now concerned that Field, er, MCS doesn't have any
    spares in stock at our local office. I feel pretty comfortable with
    the reliability of the hub stuff. *See below* Is there an
    "official" way for a customer to find out/request to have spares at
    the local office? They really did bet their business on this
    solution and it would give them some warm and fuzzies.

    Not to mention it would help us win the job to put in the LAN at
    their next site, which they will move to in 1.5 yrs.

    ( One of our NIS gang put in a hub900 at a customer, and it caught on
    fire. While flames/sparks were coming out of the hub, it was still
    forwarding traffic. True Story.)

| | I think the best approach here would be to push it up the chain of
    command in your local MCS office.
