| 2264.1 | Wrong cable? | ROGER::GAUDET | Because the Earth is 2/3 water | Wed May 10 1995 07:49 | 10 |
|  | Raphael,
The TP ports on the DECswitch 900EF are NOT repeater ports. See the *many*
discussions in this notesfile of which cable connects to which module/port. You
probably need to eliminate or add one crossover in your cabling to the switch.
I assume you have assigned the hub an in-band IP address while specifying the
slot number of the switch as the IP services module.

| | One way to tell if the cable is wrong is to see the LEDs corresponding
    to that port - they won't come on.

| | Thanks The symtom is there. It should be the cable problem. I tried to
    borrow a cable from other department, unfortunately, no one got it. I
    did make order the crossed TP cable. I am waiting the cable to test
    the connection. Thanks from Hong Kong Center.
