The HUBwatch V4.0 Sales Update states:
"With the firmware upgrade included in HUBwatch V4.0, intelligent
agents in the DEChub 900 MultiSwitch and each repeater can provide
module and port level alarms for fault isolation and traffic
monitoring."
Can we get a more definitive explanation of this new capability.
1. Does "provide alarms" mean "send and SNMP trap"?
2. What faults are supported?
3. On traffic monitoring, does this mean thresholds can be set per module
or port and an SNMP trap will be sent if the threshold is met?
Thanks,
Mark

Mark, see the replies to 2071 for info on RMON Alarms and Events, which
is the basis for this new capability. Note that this does not apply to
the DECrepeaters 90C, T, FA, & FL, which do not have SNMP agents.
This may be a bit misleading, because there will not be any support for
setting Thresholds in HUBwatch V4.0. A later version will have screens
for setting Thresholds. In the interim, you can use a generic SNMP
manager that supports the RMON MIB; you will also find a paper copy of
the Repeater/DEChub MIBs handy. (I didn't say it would be easy...)
