Has anyone tried to run hubwatch 3.1 on a HighNote? The highnote is
running windows 3.11 and has 20 mg of mem. The problem I am having
is with conventional memory. I have ran memmaker and removed
all of the softcard drivers which are not needed for the ethernet
nic. Also I noticed that the power saver mode shuts down the pcmcia
slot, once this happens the only way to get the dirvers to load again
is to reboot. Again I changed the HighNote setup and changed the
pwer sver mode to off. After this, I was able to use the highnote
last evening with a 90TS no problem. H

Today at the customer site everytime I tried to connect to the Hub900
I got this message "not enough conventional memory". I checked
the available conventional memory and there was 472kb available.
I did not try to remove modules from the hub, however this may have helped.
The network was up and I was able to ping the hub. I have ran hubwatch
on a 486 slc for several months with no problems.

I was able to use an old 386 with 8mg for a few hours at a time
as a work around. The available conventional memory in the the
386 however was less than 352kb. Any ideas?

What is so odd here is that I had installed the NetRider server
software last week and this worked well. Are there differences
in the ipstack for NetRider and HubWatch?

By the way the 486slc notebook has 20 mg of mem and is running windows
3.1. As I stated above this configuration works fine.

    Best Regards,

| 2046.1 | Try files and buffers in config.sys | SWANDC::MAUTZ | Networks >= to DECnet | Tue Feb 28 1995 14:52 | 13 |
| Hi, Georgia. Don't know if this will help or not, but I had a problem
with my 425sl last week.. I had done some mods to my config.sys and
autoexec.bat files to get another product to run. Then later on I
tried to run IRIS - which always ran before - and IRIS claimed there
wasn't enough conventional memory! I did a mem/c and there seemed to
me to be enough - but I undid the config.sys and autoexec changes
anyway and IRIS began working. I tracked the problem to the files and
buffers settings in config.sys. When I put those back to previous
    values, IRIS worked.

    Regards,

| Richard,

Thank you, I increased the biffers to 30 and hubwatch is running
    great.
