After a few iterations of installations, I installed HW for Windows
X3.1.5 on my 425SE with a Xircom PCMCIA Creditcard adaptor (a full
install with network). When I try to start up HW, the cursor changes
to an hourglass for 2-3 seconds, and then back to a cursor. No
messages or actions occur. IP is up, since I can ping the hub I want
to get to. Any ideas as to what this may be???

Also, what steps should be taken to install HW on a laptop that is
currently running the IP stack from WFW? I tried to do that first, but
had no luck getting the two to communicate together. Cookbook type
info would be very much appreciated!

    Thanks.....

First of all, get the latest kit V3.1.0.
Take a look at the README.TXT and RELNOTES(under HELP). There is
some information about WFW. Make sure you get WFW working with
the XIRCOM adapter BEFORE installing HUBwatch.
The problem could be a number of things...
Are ALL the enviroment variables set? They are written to
your AUTOEXEC.BAT during the installation(IF you chose to let
	the installation modify your AUTOEXEC.BAT).
Check the HW_MIB.DAT file in your C:\HUBWATCH directory. The
	date should be August.
	Check conventional memory.
	Check...

Check out RANGER::WFW notes file. You will find all the Windows
for Workgroups info in this notes file. Also, NOTED::PWDOSWINV5.

| Went back to basics, killed Hubwatch, reenabled WFWG TCP/IP (ping,
telnet, etc. all work fine). Installed Hubwatch only. When I run it,
I get "no response from agent", even though I can ping the address
and telnet to a t/s in the Hub. How can I check to see if Hubwatch is
indeed hooking up with the IP stack? If it isn't, what has to be done
to get it to do so? I prefer the WFWG IP because of the environment I
run it in (non-Digital, no pathworks, no VMS, etc.).

    Thanks.....

| Try this,

Look in the system.ini if DECPW.386 is included in NETWORK= . If not
included DECPW.386 and copy the file DECPW.386 to the windows or
windows\system directory if not there. (copy file from a PW PC).
