| Bob is referring to the front panel ports. In the standalone
configuration, however, there is a rear cover for the DETMI which does
contain an AUI port and yes, the connector is female to accept a MAU.
Customers should be reminded, however, that the AUI port and the
thinwire port share an internal port in the device, so only one can
be active at a given time... never both at the same time.

Thanks for your reply, Now the $64 question....
It appears from what I have seen that the back piece of plastic that has
the AUI connector plugs into the hub connector on the back of the
module and is the same plastic mold as the simple plastic peice that comes
with all -AA varients modules.
IF I HAD TO, can I take the rear plastic peice that has the AUI and place
it on another module like a 90C or 90TM?

No other small (90-size) module currently in existence can use the
AUI connector on the DETMI rear cover because none bring AUI port
signals to the HUB connector. Only the DETMI does this.
However, the rear cover will fit mechanically on any small module.
I don't know enough about all the other modules to comment with
authority on all the electrical and system issues with putting the DETMI
rear cover on a small module other than the DETMI. Instead, I can give
you the following information on the function of the DETMI rear cover,
in case you're still interested:
- Routes the AUI signals on the connector to pins B11-B16 of the
module's 48-pin connector. This should have no effect any other
small module since they don't connect to these pins.
- Attempts to take 12V power for a MAU from the ground and pin C10
of the module's 48-pin connector. This would have no effect unless
you then plugged a MAU into the rear cover AND the power brick was
a 5V/12V type, in which case the MAU would draw power from the
power brick.
- Wires the slot ID bits to all zeroes, so the module believes it is
in "slot 0." I don't know what effect this would have on other
modules.
Given that the AUI port wouldn't work, is there a reason you'd still
want to put the DETMI rear cover on another small module?
