Hi,
Will TELNET be put into the DEChub 900 and DEChub ONE.
Just a thought for a future piece of functionality. I have been
configuring a network around a county here in England. Around 40 sites
with around 50 DEChub 900's and DEChub ONE's.
As the implementation has gone along a few changes have been required.
The customer has not yet purchased HUBwatch as they only have OSF (They
do not want to use thier P.C.s for management). This has meant that I
have had to go around to each site and make the changes.
They also have DECbrouters. Thier configuration has been easy to change
from one site as I can TELNET to them and make the changes.
As the number of functions you can perform at the DEChub console is
only likely to increase it would be good if TELNET capability could be
built into the management module.
Many thanks
Neil

We have consciously avoided supporting Telnet. Not only does it require more code space to support Telnet and TCP, but we would also have to create the menu and/or command parsing code to go with it. This seems like almost twice as much work as supporting just SNMP. We are trying hard to synchronize HUBwatch releases within a few weeks of each other. This should help solve the problem that you are having. | |||||
