| 1144.2 | Check directory access... | NACAD::SLAWRENCE |  | Thu Jun 23 1994 08:16 | 7 |
| | Check the access on all directories leading to the file; the entire
hierarchy must be at least r-xr-xr-x or tftp won't load it.

Note that if any element of the path in your bootptab is a symbolic
link, then _both_ that path and the real directory must meet the above
    test.

| | The directory which contains ns3201.s is /usr/local/bootp. These
    directories have permissions as follows:

      drwxr-xr-x 26 root system 8192 Jun 2 15:51 usr

      drwxr-xr-x 4 root system 8192 Jun 20 13:35 local

      drwxr-xr-x 2 root system 8192 Jun 20 13:36 bootp

The file has the following permissions:

      -rwxr-xr-x 1 root system 601591 Jun 20 13:36 ns3210.s

    What next?

What else could be causing this kind of behavior?

    Thanks,

    Mark

Check your tftp server setup; it may require that that file be in
/tftpd. You may be able to make that a symbolic link to
/usr/local/bootp. The /tftpd directory should have a log file in it
named 'slog' that may have more information. Also check your system
setup for how tfptd is being invoked (it may have options that are
    causing problems).

| 1144.5 | TFTP working, erase flash isn't | DPDMAI::DAVIES | Mark, SCA Area Network Consultant | Tue Jun 28 1994 14:31 | 24 |
| | Ok we got TFTP working. But now we failing to load the software.

After we select #10 to upgrade, it finds the TFTP server and then
attempts to erase flash. We are now getting non-stop errors on the
    terminal as follows:

Error in flash erase write 3000000
Error in write verify to Flash address 0x3000000
       Expected data = 0x0, Read data = 0x3
Error in flash erase write 3000000
Error in write verify to Flash address 0x3000000
       Expected data = 0x0, Read data = 0x3

We have "reset" the unit and this didn't help. We have powered the
unit up/down and this didn't help. It just sits there a pounds out the
    above error message.

    What next?

    Thanks,

    Mark

Regarding .1
Look in LENAC_USER:[NETWORKS.MANAGE.RMON]PROBCODE.TXT
This is not the final code to be released, but it does include some
improvements.
