            Hello,

In respect to the DEchub900 range and the SNMP currently
implemented. Can somebody elaborate on Digitals direction
            with SNMP II.

How would a management upgrade to the DEChub 900 IP services
card be accomplished, FLASH update/TFTP, ROM ?

Some other hub vendors are taking a distributed management
engine, I take this to be a card in a hub to enables the hub
to perform as site SNMP management concentrator, that
collects SNMP management locally and communicates to a
            central NMS.

How does our DEChub management support or evolve to support
            distributed SNMP management ?

            Regards,
            Tony

| SNMP II is on our radar, but hasn't made it close enough in to worry about it compared to all the planes about to land. When we do implement it, it should be a download FLASH upgrade. We currently have no plans to use the hub management agent as a proxy for systems outside the hub. That is something that could be done with a DECagent 90 or a DECpacketprobe 90 with some extensive firmware changes. If you think that competitors are winning with this angle, please let us know. jack | |||||
