Note 5905.0 TSAM V1.0-4 & DS900 ??? No replies
ZTOIS1::VISTA "Renato VISTA, MCS/SPS France/Strasbo" 86 lines 10-MAR-1994 04:57
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi,
Working with TSAM V1.0-4, I've tested MCC_TS_AM_GETCHAR.EXE image
for getting DECserver 900TM configuration.
Please note that the registered type is DS900_as_DS700 ...
sho TERMINAL_SERVER .server.ds900 type
Terminal_Server LOCAL_NS:.server.ds900
AT 10-MAR-1994 11:20:15 Characteristics
Type = DS900TM_as_DS700
Please also that port number data are...
...
Current Active Ports = 0
High Active Ports = 0
Max Active Ports = 32
Current Active Users = 0
High Active Users = 0
Max Active Users = 32
...
The DECserver 900 software references are...
...
Software Version = V1.3.0
Software Baselevel = "BL77"
ROM Baselevel = "ROM V5.0"
...
After a while, getting the configuration file called DS900_SETUP.COM,
I've been surprised to see only 16 ports defined, instead of the
expected 32 ports !!!
More tests via FCL are returning the following messages :
sho TERMINAL_SERVER .server.ds900 PORT 1
Using default ALL IDENTIFIERS
Terminal_Server LOCAL_NS:.server.ds900 Port 1
AT 10-MAR-1994 11:08:09 Identifiers
Examination of attributes shows:
Number = 1
...
sho TERMINAL_SERVER .server.ds900 PORT 16
Using default ALL IDENTIFIERS
Terminal_Server LOCAL_NS:.server.ds900 Port 16
AT 10-MAR-1994 11:08:09 Identifiers
Examination of attributes shows:
Number = 16
sho TERMINAL_SERVER .server.ds900 PORT 17
Using default ALL IDENTIFIERS
Terminal_Server LOCAL_NS:.server.ds900 Port 17
AT 10-MAR-1994 11:08:17 Identifiers
No such entity: Terminal_Server LOCAL_NS:.server.ds900 Port 17
Unknown Entity = Terminal_Server
LOCAL_NS:.server.ds900 Port 17
SO, IT SEEMS that a Port Index greater than 16 is not an expected
value !!!
Is this a known bug ? (no comment in the V1.0.4 release notes...)
Thank you for your help.
Renato

You might want to post this in the terminal servers conference. TOOK::TERMINAL_SERVERS | |||||

See note 6.0 in TOOK::TERMINAL_SERVERS for pointers to the latest kits
- BL77 is no longer current (though I don't know if that will be any
help).

Hi,
After having installed the last NAS version on DECserver 900TM (ie NAS
V1.3 BL80-27), the problem is still existing...
Any other opinion ?

Unfortunetly, this isn't the right conference... You've got a DECserver/TSAM problem and we don't do that stuff here. The TOOK::TERMINAL_SERVERS people will be able to help. On the other hand, HUBwatch will manage a DS900TM (except for LAT). ;-) Tom Hood HUBwatch | |||||
