Hi,
My customers has a number of DEChub 900s in a LAN configuration.
Each of the DEChubs has a full compliment of power supplies.
Is it possible for them to get notification of the failure of any of the
power supplies (on HUBwatch or DECmcc)?
Any help appreciated,
John

HUBwatch V3.X will include event logging - I'll leave it up to them to
provide a pointer (or look around for notes on alarms and events).
You can use any SNMP poller to watch the Chassis MIB variables that
report power supply status. There is a single counter that reflects
the number of power supply status changes for the hub exclusive of
insertion or removal, so polling that for changes will tell you when
any supply fails:
chasPowerConfigChanges
Since your hubs are configured with redundant power, you might also
want to watch the variable that indicates whether or not the hub has
redundant power available (just as a check):
chasPowerConfigRedundancyState
You can get copies of the MIBs via:
Digital Internal WWWeb
http://www-dechub.lkg.dec.com/external-info/mibs.html
Anonymous FTP (internal or external)
gatekeeper.dec.com /pub/DEC/hub900/mibs

| 796.2 | V3.0 does it | LEVERS::SWEET | Mon Mar 07 1994 11:57 | 4 | |
HUBwatch V3.0 will have the event reporting as well as a view
that summarizes the power and thermal subsystems of the HUB.
