A big government tender I am responding to asks for "..a minimum of one
10BaseT port SWITCHABLE TO OUT POSITION for cascading to an upstream
    hub...."

Now what is this SWITCHING TO OUT POSITION ?

With some other customer, I have connected two 10BaseT ports (i.e. two
90T repeaters) together by using CROSS UTP cable. Is that all this
SWITCHING TO OUT POSITION all about ?

I will appreciate some techical inputs on this issue to justify 900TM.
As the above mentioned feature is a mandatory one, I want to be sure.

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards,
    Gupta.

| Ask the customer.

Any of the UTP ports can be used for a repeater-repeater connection if
you use a crossover cable. It may be that they are asking for the
ability to use an uncrossed cable and do the cross in the port then we
    don't do that...
