| There is some work under way on using the 48V DC plug on the bottom of
the hub for connecting to Telco power supplies, but I havn't heard any

Work on the battery backup solution keeps falling below other
activities that we consider more critical. Does anyone see
that we are losing business without a tried and true battery
backup solution? (separate discussion from dual pwr cord)

It would be a good "point of difference" to other hubs. I think it shouldn't be
to difficult to buid one. So we don't have to spend very much money for
engineering. We talked much about such a "could be in the future" feature
to our customers and they realy voted it possitive.
Think that we should have eighter a battery backup, or bring the 48V port to
work.

| In this country customers usually are worried about UPS and generally
include them in the bids. And UPSs are expensive, compared to hubs!
So, if we could just simply "hook" batteries to that 48V 'port' on the
HUB900 backplane, that would give us a very clear advantage!
Of course, that same port would also have to provide the charge path
for those batteries.
Or can we do all this ALREADY?
