    I have questions about DECbridge900MX.

    (Q.1)
I know that DECbridge900MX has two FDDI ports (A,B) on a front panel.
Can I use the FDDI ports of DECbridge900MX installed in a DEChub900 ?
If I can, is the following configuration right?

	       Ethernet
DB900MX is connected to FDDI Ring by Physical FDDI ports on a front
panel, and connected to one external Ethernet. And five Ethernet
ports of it were assigned to five Ethernet backplane channels on a
	DEChub900. Is it correct?

    (Q.2)
Can I assign one FDDI port and six Ethernet ports to DEChub900
       backplane channels?
	Thanks and Regards,
	Kouhei

| Q.1) Yes, you can use the FDDI DAS connection in a DEChub 900 and the
configuration you show is exactly the sort of thing it is built to do.

Q.2) You can assign all 6 Ethernets to the backplane (note that each
Ethernet can be _either_ front or back, but not both); whether or not
you will be able to connect just one FDDI to the back is still TBD; as
it stands _now_, you must have either both FDDI front or both back.

Can DECbridge900MX shipped in Jan '94 assign one FDDI to the back? Regards, Kohei | |||||
| 535.4 | IS Dual-Homing Supported at FCS? | HGRNCC::FARADAYCHONG | Faraday Chong@hgo 852-8053590 | Thu Dec 16 1993 02:04 | 8 |
| Another config question on DB900MX.

At FCS, can it dual-homed to say DECconcentrator 500?

If this capability is not planned at FCS, when would it be? We need
this to help customer planning their network.

| Dual homeing will be supported via the front bezel cabling, but not on
the backplane; so yes - to the DECconcentrator 500 would be ok.
