There are info from the Performance group on the Exchange sizing on
AlphaServer. What about servers that have MS mail, SMTP, and site
connectors ? The link speed for site connectors are 64K bps or lower.
How would these connectors affect the sizing of Exchange servers ?

Any connector or connectors would decrease the number of users from
the single server numbers by at least 30%. This is due to the increase
in mail processing. Based on the 80/20 rule where 20% of recipients
are off node.
See our web site (yesmom.zko.dec.coom) for the latest .PPT presentation
for more info on connectors.
It is also our recomendaton that if you have multiple connectors on
your systems a Bridgehead server be used. Then you will only have
1 active connector on each system. A second connector with a higher
cost should be used to a backup bridgehead system.
