| 937.1 | Why perfmon and not CRW and the tracking logs ? | tunsrv2-tunnel.imc.das.dec.com::foster | Stan Foster - [email protected] | Tue Mar 18 1997 03:34 | 2 |
| | Why not use the tracking logs and get an exact picture of all the
traffic in and out of the server ?.

| 937.2 | The source must be Performance Monitor | NEWVAX::RAK |  | Tue Mar 18 1997 22:49 | 6 |
| | Message tracking imposes too heavy of a footprint on the Exchange
    servers, the customer is not willing to accept the performance
    penalty. Additionally, we would prefer to have the data reduced
    before collecting it from several hundred Exchange servers to our
    central management and monitoring software.

| 937.3 | MTA and MTA connectors | EPS::BOEHM |  | Mon Apr 07 1997 12:59 | 4 |
| | Look at the MTA counters, it will give you the total messages, and
    messages per second. You can also look at all the connectors
    individually with perfmon.
