I have a 1040 STf and am trying to set up the RS232 port to take a
printer. Under the DESK menu I only have the VT52 Emulator option.
I believe that booting with the language disk in I should get under the
heading DESK INFO four options, these being :-

    VT52 Emulator
    Control Panel
    Config RS232
    Install Printer

Can anyone confirm this and tell me exactly what should be on the
Language Disk. If this is not the case how do I config the RS232
    and install a new printer.

you need a file CONTROL.ACC in the rootdirectory of the drive you
are booting from. This will install the Control Panel in your
Desk Menu. By selecing the control panel you can choose a option
to configure the serial port. The CONTROL.ACC is on the language
    disk.
