1136.0. "Graphic Adaptor Cards" by UFHIS::BFALKENSTEIN () Thu Jun 06 1991 03:59
I just read an ad about a new graphics card for every ST. It claims to
be a Super VGA compatible card, called 'CHROMA'.
Here are some specs:
- resolution up to 1280*800 pixels in 256 colors
- 16.7 million possible colors
- socket for optional 68881 FPU
- VDI-driver for color graphic modes
it ships with the VDI-driver, configuration program to set the resolution
and color modes, accessory to change the color table, program to auto-start
TOS/TTP programs in fast VGA color text mode with the interpretation of
ANSI escape sequences.
For Mega STs the card just fits into the slot, for every other ST (260, 520,
1040) the card comes with an adaptor that has to be soldered onto the CPU.
A VME-bus version of the card is about to be developed for STEs and TTs.

The price for the card is 649.-DM which is about 390.-$ at the current
exchange rate. Sorry, I don't know the current exchange rate for pounds.

    for the monitor I would say by feeling that a NEC multisync 3d is
    sufficient enough. B.t.w. I do not know this company, just read
    their ad in the magazine.
