| 1077.1 | how about these? | DECWIN::GILLIAM |  | Thu Feb 21 1991 13:35 | 5 |
| | Yes, there's a commercial program called Multidesk by Codehead Software
(Los Angeles) that allows you to load and unload accessories without
    rebooting.

I think a PD program named Chameleon does something similar.

| | However... neither of these work with an STe!. I'd love to have
    something that does though.

| | maybe you missunderstand my meaning. I'm happy with the STe (No I don't
want to swap) but I'd love to have an STe compatible accessory swapper.

| | Don't we all dream! ;-) but back to the main question again!

Thanks for the pointers. I have d/l CHMELEON.ARC and un-arced it. Now
i have it up and ``running''. It's just what i wanted! Just one small
question though. Not being a member of the German speaking community
and not having a German-English dictionary, i was wondering if anyone
who has it could give me some brief details. Is it possible to unload
and then to reload another different accessory? If so, how? Which key
sequence's to exit the current loaded accessory back to the desktop?
Can you have more than 1 accessory selected thorugh CHAMELEON?

Thanks in advance for all the answers,

    Regards,

    				Lewis.

This is from memory, but here goes. Load CHAMELEON as a normal D.A.
Click on it and you get a file selector. Choose the new D.A you wish to
load and it will load and be activated at once. If you hold down the
shift key while selecting the new D.A it will be load but not be
immediately made active. To unload the selected D.A (indicated in the
D.A drop down menu by its name preceded by an arrow (->) ) hold down
the ALT and LEFT_SHIFT keys and then click on the D.A name. CHAMELEON
will be reloaded and ready for new use. There are occasions when
CHAMELEON is unable to unload a D.A it has loaded though this only
happens in a minority of cases.

    Hope this helps,

    Jonathan
