| | It will print text just fine at 1200 baud, and it should be able to
respond to XON/XOFF flow control at faster speeds. (LA50 defaults at
the factory to 4800 baud xon/xoff) You cat set this up with the default
control panel.
You don't get graphics for the LA50 with any Atari program I have ever
seen, except for my PSLA50 desk accessory, which is a very crude,
monochrome only, print-portion of screen utility.

| | You will find that some packages (e.g. word processing) don't use the
XON/XOFF mechanism - they demand the ready/busy protocol. This requires
making up a special cable as I couldn't find a standard DEC cable that
had the right connections. Also, you'll have to change some of the LA50
switches - the ready/busy polarity is one that I remember.

    Good luck
Ian (who now has a STAR LC10 Colour so details of LA50 are rusty)

| | re .1

Here's another Atarifreak trying to connect a LA50 to his Atari 1040ST.
I used the la50.acc as described in .1 and it worked for screen dumps.
But now I want to print files(graphics) and I want to print graphics
    from basic and fortran programs.
Is there any way to print Atari graphics from a file to the LA50
without crap on my screen ????.

    Thanks in advance,
    Arie. (the MIDIot)
