I wonder if it's possible to redirect the command input/output of
one of the Command Line Interpreters (CLI's) to the serial port?
One limitation of course would be you couldn't run any GEM
programs. But basic things like editing, copying, directory listing,
etc. have a good chance of working. If nothing else you could MWC's
debugger which has serial line support built in.
Has anyone tried this?

I'm not sure about other comm. software, but Interlink by
Intersect has a function which allows remote access. You set
up a password (three levels of entry...low, medium or high level
of access), and it allows sending, receiving (with various types
Xmodem, Ymodem, etc.),directory listing, deleting files, etc.
It also has a mail function...when you log in, it asks your
name, and lets you know if you have any messages. I use it as
a low-feature 'bulletin board', so friends can call in. You
don't get ANYWHERE without a password, so it's pretty safe.
