    Hello all.
    
    1) Will the new  Infoserver for NT software allow one to mount Mac CDs on
       the NT?
    
    2) If so, can I redirect these share to Macintoshes using Services for
       Mac on the NT
    
    What I am trying to do is find a way to allow Macs to Mac CDs on an
    infoserver. We once had a product called Infoserver for Mac client
    software. The problem is this software does not work on the newer
    Macintoshes.
    
    So in general can anyone suggest a way for Macs now to use the
    Infoserver?

    I put a MAC CD into my NT system CD-ROM drive. The NT system didn't
    like it. So I assume MAC CDs are not ISO 9660, therefore, the
    InfoServer would not read them either.

     Do you have one older MAC around that would run the MAC InfoServer
    client software? If so, do MACs allow sharing out connected drives
    the way NT does? That's about all I can think of.....

Mac CDs are either ISO-9660 or Mac HFS. The InfoServer can handle either.
The NT system should be able to handle ISO-9660 Mac CDs.

    Then the next step would be can the NT then share this Mac CD to the
    network, using Services for Macintosh and Appletalk?
    
    By default the normal Mac operating system can not redirect a share so
    to speak. It can only offer its local drives. However with Apples File
    Server software you seem to be able to share remote drives also, and
    this is what we are having her actually try. However this is not ideal
    when the shared drives may be heavily used.
    
    Since the customer does have an NT 4.0 system, that really seemed to be
    the better choice in this case. The older Mac they have is a somewhat
    slower model.
    
    But we had quite a few users who had purchased the Infoserver for Mac
    product and they were kinda left stranded when the new Mac models came
    out.
    
    I was hoping this would be a viable alternative for using thier Macs
    with the Infoserver.
