    Thise morning GMA had an article about the Social Security
    Administration's new website, where you can enter some personal
    information and receive a copy of your SS earnings work history.
    
    I've been trying to access it all morning (http://www.ssa.gov) but I
    get no response.
    
    Anyone know if they perhaps took it offline?  There was steamy debate
    during the report regarding privacy issues.

	I managed to get to the main page once (out of a few dozen attempts), but never got beyond that. I suspect half the WWWeb population is checking it out. /john

	It probably won't help but you can skip the main page and go directly to: Personal Earnings and Benefits Estimate Statement http://www.ssa.gov/pebes/ Note: The main page says: "PEBES available M-F:8AM - 9PM & Sat:9AM - 4PM EST" (Can you say "Web Clueless"?)

	I didn't see the report, but they said on the news that the hit rate went from a normal daily average of 8,000 to 80,000 yesterday, coincidentally, after the GMA report. I STILL haven't gotten in! jeb
