A couple of weeks ago I was reading in the paper about a foundation
started by the estate of the missing heiress to the Brach Candy
fortune (she disappeared without a trace in 1978 or so). Supposedly,
the foundation has about $50 million in it and gives about $2 million a
year to shelters and other organizations to care for homeless, stray,
    and abandoned animals.

I would like to contact this foundation (I think it is in Chicago) to
see if they could make a donation to a cat shelter in Pueblo, CO from
which I adopted a cat; the shelter is expanding to take in more cats
    and has substantial expenses, etc.

Does anyone know anything specifically about this Brach Foundation (if
that is the exact name), before I start trying the hard way to track
    down a locator reference?

    Thanks for any info.

I found out the info about the Brach Foundation back in December; if
anyone ever needs it, let me know.

Also...is anyone aware of other foundations that give donations to
animal shelters, as I am trying big-time to line up additional funding
for the shelter in Pueblo. Any information would be very appreciated.
