    I worked at MRO2 last year and know for a fact that they go into the
    cement area attached to the right hand side of the building.  I
    went inside there last year because I could see all the footprints
    leading into there.  There's a flight of stairs that leads down to a
    doorway that goes into the MRO2 building.  They're very protected there. 
    Check it out.  It will probably make you feel better.  There were lots
    of leaves in there last year that I'm sure they could burrow into.  
    
    I know how you feel.  We were traipsing through the deep snow one day
    last year trying to get the cat we kept seeing, but no luck. 

    It's funny you mentioned that, because I've been checking that place
    out.  The facilities folks told me I could start putting their food
    down there if I wanted because no one used that entrance.  I was
    hesitant because I wasn't sure if the cats went down there at all. 
    It's just so dark and damp....  my dad plans on getting some hay
    anyways and I think I will put a couple plugs of it down there for them
    (and their food now that I know...)  thanks for the reply, I DO feel
    better...

    There is also a black  stray kitty that live around the DLB
    building in Marlboro.  It breaks my heart.....I'm going to start
    leaving food out for him...but I only see him once in awhile and
    have no idea where he is sleeping.  
    
    I don't know....but I can't believe the number of strays out on
    the streets this year....it seems much worse then it use to be.
    Does it appear worse for anyone else?   God my heart breaks....

    There was one at the NRO complex...we tried to catch it several
    times....she seemed friendly enough, however no one could
    get close enough.  
    
    I saw her remains on Whitney st, in front of NRO2 the other day....

If anyone wants to try to catch feral cats, let me know. I have before.
Even if it's just to have them spayed and put back, it's better than nothing,
but if you have the time to tame them it's very rewarding.
It's also very dangerous to try to catch them with your hands.  They are wild
and can REALLY go bezerk when caught, I couldn't believe it until I witnessed
it!

    The Humane Society in Nashua has seen a very large increase in the
    numbers of cats it has taken in or found abandoned this year. The 	
    Executive Director, Michele Clemons, has a couple of theories:
    People are moving out of the area in pursuit of employment and leaving
    their cats behind; the economy is so bad that people can no longer
    afford to feed their pets and let them roam; people cannot afford
    neutering and therefore involuntarily contribute to the population.
    
    On Saturday someone brought in 3 one day old kittens that were left
    abandoned inside a gas grill! Last week someone dropped off three
    kittens who were just 3 or 4 weeks old, and as we were leaving the
    shelter for a meeting last week we saw a mother cat and two 6 week old
    kittens rummaging through a wood pile outside the shelter. The babies
    are all being bottle fed and nursed to health. Sadly, the mother cat and 
    her two kittens were euthanized because they were in very ill health.
    
    We have to put a stop to this lunacy. Too many helpless, defenseless
    animals are suffering because people are negligent with their care.

    If anyone is interested in doing something about the MRO kitties let
    me know.  I also have experience with ferals and own a fishnet and
    have-a-heart trap that we could use to catch them.  Also, Animal
    Umbrella will help support your efforts to neuter the cats.  The
    drawback is that the cats will have to go to Boston Cat Hospital
    for neutering unless you can find someone else who'll do it for
    around $30 which is what Animal Umbrella will pay.  Perhaps Framingham
    humane would help us. 
    
    I can NOT foster any kitties, unfortunately because I'm breeding now.
    However, I CAN provide food, traps, and other help if there are some
    folks who will commit to helping these cats.
