| 4059.1 | Look for fur | AKOV13::FALLON | Isn't that a Mooncat? | Mon Oct 08 1990 16:18 | 16 |
|  |     Denise,

    So sorry to hear about Pepe. I was missing a cat once for several
    days. You don't say where you live, but there could be several reasons
    for the disappearance, especially with the neighbors cats missing too.

    I would check the yard and surrounding bush area for pieces of fur.
    This might help to discover if another animal could be the cause. If
    so they could be hiding somewhwere til they are better. Were they
    friendly? Perhaps some disgusting person took them away?

    Just some thoughts that could give the answer, I feel that any answer
    is better than none.
    Don't give up!!!

| | Denise - also check all the cellars and garages in the area. Its
    very possible that he got locked up somewhere.

| | I lost Miss Flea (Ninja Kitty) about 8 weeks ago. I tramped through
    the woods, put out 80 flyers with xerox copies of pictures--nothing.
    I agree with another reply, check anywhere a cat may have been shut in,
    ask around--I found out that we had a sizable Coyote population in
    Groton, Massachusetts (they had recently taken a calf from a nearby
    farm). Look at neighborhood dogs and their personalities, could they
    have been responsible. With more than one cat missing in your area,
    that's not a good sign, but miracles can happen.

    A friend who lost her cat about the same time I lost Flea, she came
    home to find him on her doorstep--he had been missing for a week, which
    is a long time for an indoor cat to survive outside.

    I don't think I will be as lucky and don't expect to see Miss Flea again.
    But, every time I pull into the driveway I hope to see her waiting
    for me

    My family and I know what you are going through and you have our very
    best wishes. I sincerely hope your kitty comes home.

|  |     I know that you've probably checked w/ these resources already but I'll
    mention them anyway;
    Check w/ the local Police Dept w/ The Animal Rescue Officer
    Also, a local Humane Society
    Another option - might be local establishments that hang up such
    posters.

    I had a missing cat once - come to find out he was trapped in our boat
    for 2 (rainy) days. I heard all kinds of miracle appearance stories
    duing that timeframe though! I hope you find him soon!

    P.S. I found a black/white cat (approx a yr old) in Maine a few wks
    ago. No one claims ownership up there so my Parents are taking
    ownership. He's so happy to have a home now!

| 4059.6 | "The Prayer for Lost Cats" | CONFG5::WALKER |  | Wed Oct 10 1990 09:23 | 21 |
|  |     Dear friends:

    Here's a prayer from Baha'i Prayers that I call the Prayer for Lost
    Cats, although I'm sure no one else calls it that! I've used it twice
    and both kittens returned:

    	O God, my God! I have set out from my home, holding fast unto
    	the cord of Thy love, and I have committed myself wholly to
    	Thy care and Thy protection. I entreat Thee by Thy power
    	through which Thou didst protect Thy loved ones from the
    	wayward and the perverse, and from every contumacious oppressor,
    	and every wicked doer who hath strayed far from Thee, to keep
    	me safe by Thy bounty and Thy grace. Enable me, then, to return
    	to my home by Thy power and Thy might. Thou art, truly, the
    	Almighty, the Help in Peril, the Self-Subsisting.

    						Baha'u'llah

| 4059.7 | I think my Pepe ran away :^( | GWYNED::JPORTER |  | Wed Oct 10 1990 15:58 | 11 |
| | I had a cat named Pepe once... she disappeared too. I was very sad
    about it and still wonder whatever happened to her...

    I hope your Pepe comes back to you but if not, do what I do:

    	I imagine that she just decided to have a change in her
    	surroundings and that some nice family found her one day
    	and took her in... I am sure she is living the good life now.
    	She'd be 11 years old by now.

| 4059.8 | No Pepe'. | WFOV12::HILLS |  | Tue Oct 16 1990 09:45 | 17 |
|  |     Hi,
      I wanted to write and thank everyone who wrote to me concerning
    Pepe'. Everyone is so kind.
      I have searched and searched for Pepe' and I still haven't seen hide
    nor hair of him. I have looked all over. I only hope that he found a
    good home. I still expect to see his little black and white body when
    I go home at night. But no Pepe'.
      I had brought a new cat into the household, and I thought that might
    be why Pepe' dissapeared, but Pepe' liked to be outside so much and he
    didn't come into the house that much, I didn't think the new cat would
    affect Pepe'. Pepe was a spitty little thing and he didn't like any of
    the other cats. But Pepe' did like the dog.
      I have a new problem that I have encountered and I will post it in
    the notes file under a new topic.
      Thank you everyone for your help.
      Fondly,
      Denise
