| | I believe it to be normal. Sometimes my cats will do pretty weird
things when they are asleep! They run and growl. You can see their
eyes moving but I can't remember them opening their eyes. Come to think
of it, my first husband used to sleep with his eyes wide open!! Now
that was creepy!! Why shouldn't cats?

| | Bob frequently sleeps with his eyes partially open so you can see
the nictating membrane. Its normal for him, anyway.

| | I love Stephen King....when Poco was young she use to sleep with
her eyes partially opened. It was gross to look at because you
couldn't see the eyeball. What's the third eye???

| | Its some sort of protective eyelid. When I was young, my mother had a
sealpoint siamese who had to have these membranes removed. They had lost
their ability to retract. I still don't know the true purpose, but
every cat I've ever knew, had them. Maybe someone out there can shed
    some light on their function.

Yep, sounds normal. My kitties have dreams too. Just like humans, I
think, they sometimes act out their dreams. Dont worry!

| | Thanks for correcting...I think I have been reading too many Stephen
King books "the cat with three eyes". What purpose does this
third EYELID have? Do all cats have it? I have seen it on Poco
when she was young, but not on any of my other ones.
