Here is hoping that someone can help me.
I have been making my own Christmas gifs for the past 15 years and this
upcoming Christmas will be no exception. USUALLY I wait until October
but this last January made a resolution to start working on my project(s)
early. (Is this early enough?)
Anyway. Of the two major projects I have decided on - one of them is to
do 'something' with the photo's I have of Otis and Tiffany. I just got
another roll of film developed - with Otis' antics and every single
person that has seen them has said I should submit them to a magazine -
ad agency - etc. etc. etc.! (Does that make me feel proud, or what!)
I came up with the (*brilliant*) idea of taking 12 selected photos
and seeing if I can have a calendar - for 1991 - made up. I could give
them to my friends, family, neighbors... as they all know what a nut
I am about my 'kids'.
Mind you, I am not looking to SELL my photo's to a calendar 'company'
but I want to contact a printing company (I live in Massachusetts) that
would take my photographs and some for me.
Thanks,
Marilyn

| 3643.1 | You need to call some color separation printers | CADSYS::RICHARDSON | Fri May 25 1990 16:37 | 14 | |
You need to call up a printer who does things like color brochures and
such. I use a small Mom&Pop place in Southboro (real near MRO) called
"Yankee Colour" to print things like postcards, but it isn't cheap (I
don't have their number here, but you can look them up if you want,
although they are probably still closed for their vacation; "Mom and
Pop" go away for 2-3 month vacation every winter/spring, and they told
me that this year they would return "after Memorial Day"). Another
printer I have used is Bestway Graphics, in Belmont. For what I do,
his prices are the same, but his color separation is not as good.
If black and white is OK, you probably have more options. Call up some
printers (not the "PIP" kind of places) and see what you can find.

| 3643.2 | how about color photocopying | NWACES::KORGEN | Mon Jun 18 1990 13:24 | 15 | |
I don't know how the cost would compare, but my husband brought
home some great enlargements done on a Xerox color photocopier.
We got a dynamite 11x14 from just a Polaroid snapshot. That was
for free because he's in the color graphics business and the
machine was at work. You may have seen this new color copier
advertised recently. You could ask your printer for the
price comparisons vs. traditional color printing. The quality
of the enlargement is extremely good. The surface is semi-glossy
on regular photocopy paper.
Might be a good way to go! I just might steal this idea, heh heh
heh...
