    HELLO FELINE FRIENDS,

This is my first reply to this notes conference. I consider this
conference invaluable for informative assistance and its' shared
expertise. The exchanges have been very helpful to me as a breeder
of persians, and is instrumental in helping me too
be more emotionally involved of my feline friends.

I am a breeder of solid, and bi_color persians and i am
registered in CFA. and CFF. since 1979. My cattery name is
STONELAND. The purpose of my introduction is to credit all of you on
your altruism, and for representing each issue with fortification.
I look forward to reading the latest entries with almost zeal.
    thanx,

    john,

Its nice to hear from another quiet Feliner! Do you show your
cats? If so, which shows are you going to be at. We could look
    each other up.

I have a cream/white persian female (and I'm new to this conference)
How do you get a persian cat in show condition? Although I groom mine
regularily, she always looks fairly scruffy. I've no intention of
entering her for any shows, but would be interested in any advice.

| Can you bathe her? Regular baths, along with daily combing will
keep her coat in good condition.

Baths are *pretty* unpopular... and not usually necessary. I'd rather
have a scruffy persian than a huffy one!

    Thanks all the same.

| The ONLY way to get a persian in show condition is to bathe and blow
dry it at least every other week. Other things are also important.
Daily grooming, brushing and combing, and cleaning the corners of the
eyes. Also, diet, exercise, and general health maintenance (ie proper
    vet care) contribute equally.

Please feel free to contact me if you'ld like.

| Absolutely, if your kitty will not let you have a groomer do it
for you. it very uncomfortable for them( not to mention unheathly)
to not be bathed( I do mine weekly) and brushed and combed , teeth
brushed, eyes cleaned, face washed daily..etc, Everyone gets this
treatment in my house.. and Yes Happy complains,(right Cin.. tee-hee)
but I give her treats and I work with her,, we may only get one ears
done on Monday, but we do more on Tuesady etc, and everysix weeks
(for Happy) and 7-8 for Pookie she goes to the groomer, and Precious
ahs her 1st big girl appt at the groomer on April24th..( she will
be accompanying Happy on this trip.. that wil make my groomers
day.. tee-hee..Pookie expects this kind of care from me, and
heaven forbid it should be 5:45 pm before we start our evening
session of grooming,, she will not eat her supper until
she has been groomed,, the same with Breakfast,, Happy
on the other wants to food 1st, the same with Precious..
they really do get used to it.. and they find it soothing,,
I know you may think this is a little weird, but I put on
very soft music while I work wih them.. and it does calm them..
you should try it.. Pookie kinda like Swan lake and Happy
and Precious will tolerate Dvorak.. I know thast Happy
would probably like something more snazzy.. tee-hee..
