| | Linda, you write so well. What are you doing here at Digital?
    :^).

I am sorry to hear about Sheba's passing. I know how much you loved
her, and always enjoyed it when you shared "Sheba stories" and antics.
Take comfort in your other babies, and look forward to the time
when new Birman kittens will fill your days with endless fun and
    love.

A beautiful tribute to a special cat.

| | Linda, that was a lovely tribute to Sheba. Though I had never met
her in person, I have always felt that I have known her from the
stories you have shared with me over the years. I think that in
each of our lives, there will always be one special cat. Though
we love our other cats deeply, I think that there is always one
that steals our hearts and souls forever. Jesse was that cat for
me, and I think that Sheba was that cat for you. She will always
be with you in spirit, just as my Jesse is always with me. I take
comfort in knowing that Jesse is no longer in pain, and I hope that
knowing that Sheba is no longer in pain will comfort you.

Sending my love across the country to you and yours,

| | I had saved the January picture from the "Great Cats! '89" calendar
as the cat pictured is an old-type bluepoint Siamese that is the
image of Sheba. The quote on the back of that picture reads:

    		The companionship of a cat
    		is never measured in weeks,
    		but in years of memories
    		and dreams that cannot be
    		duplicated.

    				Roger Valentine, D.V.M.

I know the depth of our feelings for Sheba are similar to the feelings
that many of you Feliners have felt for your special companions.
It binds us in a very warm [sometimes Hot! :^) ] conference. Knowing
that allowed me to feel comfortable with sharing some very personal
feelings in such a public forum. Your expressions of sympathy and
    understanding have helped alot.

When Max left I was blown away, I couldn't believe it, but I had to,
and did. Its strange how we adapt to everything in our lives; friends
enter and leave, jobs/careers change, yet the loss of my Maxie was just
devastating. I carried on, and now have a lovely new cat, Brie/Moon -
I'm trying to change her name - who over the last six weeks has given
me new joys and hope for new love. I'm amaze. I get so sentimental over
cats. They are such beautiful, caring, furry creatures.

| | Linda,

Many times this week we have discussed the hope and dream of Sheba
pulling through this final illness. Since I have met Sheba many times
I feel the specialness of your bond you had with her. I am glad that
Sheba could give you the time to say good bye to her. She was a
special grand lady and no matter how many kitties you have from this
point on you will always remember and cherish all the fond memories of
    her.

My prayers are with you and your family. I hope that when your little
kittens get running around that all the hurt of losing her will have
passed as you enjoy the playful antics of new birman babies. Sheba
would have wanted it so as she always cherished little babies.

Here's to lots of joyful things happening this spring. I better get
prepared to bring a bottle of champagne to celebrate when Mistral
grands. I figure it shouldn't be long.

    Nancy

| | On Memorial Day we put Sheba to rest at the edge of the garden next
to TiJai and Lovey. I never dreamed that we would be putting my
beautiful Magic to rest at the same time.

Magic put up a good fight against a deadly viral infection but was
unable to recover. I am thankful that she never suffered. She was
purring in my arms as she went to sleep.

Jo, there are no words to thank you enough for all the help,
understanding and loving support. With your advice and the help of
the folks at NVVH I had the assurance that everything possible
was done for Magic and knowing that there is every reason to believe
that my other kids will remain as healthy and active as they now
    appear to be.

(Re. 3675) Roberta, your thoughtful concern during Magic's illness
was a great help to me. We didn't know that you were soon to lose
your handsome Kirby. I share your loss. I know how special he was and
    I will miss him too.

Ira, my sympathies also go out to you on the loss of Puffer. I am
sure he was special to you and will be missed.

The loss of a friend, animal or human, reminds us how fragile life
is ...and how enduring. In the middle of the worry and sadness about
Magic, ....our minihorse mares gave birth to two beautiful chestnut
foals; one colt (boy) and one filly (girl). We have been delighting
in watching them enjoy their new world.

I look forward to new Birmans in our home, more excitement at the
shows, ..and new Birman babies in our future. In the meatime I
give Mistral, Charm, Mooner, Sity and Corey lots of hugs ....and
    treasure all the wonderful memories.

    Rest in Peace sweet Magic.

    Linda
