This reminds of a story book I had when I was a little kid of 3 or 4
called Millions of Cats. It was my favorite book.

the only line I can remember from the book, although I can recall
that it was yellow, and had colorful pictures, was

'hundreds of cats, thousands of cats, milions and millions and
    millions of cats.'

My parents said they used to read me that book until I had it
memorized, and the pages were worn thin.

| | What a wonderful person this Todd person is. I would love to be able
to do the same. Does Todd work or is he at the house full-time? Does
he have assistants to help care for all these wonderful kittys?? Any
info on this *special* person would be greatly appreciated. Where in
CT is he located?? I am planning to go to CT this summer and might
    stop in.

    Thanks,

| | I think there is another note about this place in the file. If If
dir/title doesn't turn it up, I guess you will have to use search.

| | I'm afraid the article doesn't have much more information than that,
Sandi, and nothing that would identify where he and the cats live.

There's a small photo of the sign at the side of the road, which looks
to be black on white, roughly shaped like the body of an upside-down
fiddle, with a silhouette of an upright cat with tail curled around and
the words THE LAST above and POST below. There is also a caption under
the main photo that talks about both: "At the sign of the cat: the
house-sign of "The Last Post" old-age home. [and then in reference to
the main photo] Owner Todd Boibeaux isn't even disturbed while reading
the newspaper by his housemates" (In point of fact he's reading The
Book Of The Cat, not a newspaper. :-) The caption is apropos because of
the two cats sitting atop the back of the easy chair and the third
apparently trying to wedge itself under his right arm.

Perhaps the note Karen mentions will have more information.

| | This MUST be "The last post". There's another note about it here
somewhere and we'd toyed with the idea of a field trip.

I think the whole thing is wonderful. I think I would like
    	to be a philanthropist when I grow up. *8^}

| | I remember passing a fenced in yard on the outskirts of Paris in '87.
The yard had more than 100 cats in it. There was an elderly lady in
there feeding them. Looking at the cats and their little groupings
there seemed to be several that were related.

They must have enjoyed it there, I cannot image that many cats staying
there if they didn't. It was only a 6' fence (perhaps 2m).
