Nancy,
Just to let you know, and the kind lady from California. That I
received the certificates from Friends Of Animals. (3) for Females and
have made an appointment for all (3) December 14th at the Lancaster
Animal Hospital, near the Lancaster Humane Society.
There is one problem though. They don't keep them, without a charge
(and I can imagine the CHARGE!!!) -- for the 10 day recuperating time.
These are strays, as you know and I can't pen them up anywhere and it
would be TOO MUCH FOR ME TO HANDLE.
I'm going to call the Lancaster Humane Society and see if they can keep
them, during that time period. (Would be apsolutely wonderful, if they
would totally keep them!!!) -- But according to their recording, they
are full. I hope they can do this for me with a small charge and a
donation, from me with food...... I don't know what to do, if I can't
have them stay there.?
Just keeping you updated.
Carol

10 days s a long time. You would definitely want to keep them
in for 3 days or so after the surgery. The 10 days would be when
they'd have to go back and have their stitches removed.
Can you give them a room to themselves in your home? They may be
just fine. I expected Jesse to freak out when we caged him, but
he was quiet and well behaved. Guess he figured that the food was
good so what the heck.

I, too, was surprised that you wanted them to keep them for 10 days.
When we had Merlin spayed, we had the problem of her wanting to play
with her stitches. I just cut the toe off one of my husband's sock and
placed it over her abdomen - she played with the strings of the sock
and her stitches healed great. My sister, on the other hand, got one
of those plastic cones to put on the cats head to keep her from the
stitches. Merlin only needed the sock on for 3 days. I'll be using
the same method with "momma cat" this weekend.
