Can anyone tell me about Rodent's Ulcer. I saw a reference to it
in one or more of the notes here and tried to find a corresponding
note with more detail but could not. I'm concerned about
Oliver's spot on his flank. I put olive oil on it last night.
Thanks.

One of my cats, Stitch, has Rodents Ulcer and it is confined to
his left hind leg. In the beginning he was given steroid
injections/pills but he was switched to Tribbesen (sp) #30 1 pill
a day for 10 days. This drys up the red weeping area and keeps
it cleared up for months before he has another outbreak. My vet
attended a conference in which this treatment was discussed - they
don't know why the Trib works on this condition, but it does.
He also told me not to put any cream or ointment on the inflamed
area as the cat will lick it all the more. Stitch is now taking
medication as he had an outbreak about a week ago. I always check
for this condition and when I feel the bump or notice the redness
I get him on the Trib right away.
Ask your vet about the Trib - by the way - the affected area, if
its very inflamed, will take about 10-12 days to really clear up.
