| | what is a Scottish Fold and where are the kittens now? I'm just
curious because I've never heard of Scottish Fold kittens before.

| | Nancy,

Aren't these the cats that you said have a nasty disposition (remember
my note about Dickens who was attacking me in bed?). What makes
them special? Please please please excuse my ignorance, I'm just
confused as to why someone would want a cat with a bad disposition.

BTW: Dickens was just going through some kind of adaptation stage.
He is really nice now - getting less and less independent every
    day!

Thanks in advance for your answer,

    Paula

| | Folds are not nasty!!! If Nancy said that about Dundee, it must
have been tongue in cheek. Folds have cute little round faces with
sweet expressions. They get their name because their ears don't
stand up like other cat's ears, they are folded up against the head.
They are a shorthaired cat (right now anyway, some associations
are starting to recognize the Scottish Folds in longhair variety
too). Their faces kind of look like little snow owls.

| | that's good - i don't know what she said . i'll have to check the
note again. it sounds like they look really great.

i'll be moving soon, and when i do, i'm getting another cat. perhaps
    this should be a choice???

    thanks for the info.

| | Nasty Folds!!! That's an oxymoron ;-)

    Like - Military Intelligence
                   or
           Jumbo Shrimp!!

I don't know what I said, but that's the furthest thing from the
truth! Dundee is about the sweetest cat I've ever met! Other
traits of Folds include a comical streak, a tendency to sleep
or relax in odd positions (tho I don't think anything can beat
Bumpy sleeping on her head), soft, plush coats and quiet, endearing
vocalizations. Dundee is very quiet, speaking in peeps, meeps
    and trills.

The best description of folds I ever heard is "If the owl and
the pussycat had kids, this is what they'd look like". Come
to the Framingham or W Warwick Show and meet Dundee!

| | How exactly does a pussycat sleep on its head? I mean, up
    against a wall....

| | I once had one that did.

Picture a cat sleeping in its normal curled up position
and now pick it up and put it down so that it up against
something like a chair back (like leaning a tire against a wall)
and now rotate it like that tire until the top of the head is
down. It does look strange, but I've seen 'em do it!

| | You know how cats "crouch"? Well, Bumpy will sleep in that position
    resting on her forehead.
Truth IS stranger than fiction :-)

| | I hope Nancy reads this . . .

I just reread my note regarding my "mean" kitty biting me, and the
reply that I THOUGHT said Folds were nasty. In no way, whatsoever,
did Nancy imply that these cats were mean. I just read it that
way. I am so glad this note came up because I would have gone around
telling people (I already have) that these funny-earred cats are
    nasty.

I take it all back and forward many apologies!

Me, the writer, the communications major should know better than
to fall for the ol' read/see what you want trick!

Nancy, approximately how much do these guys cost?

Well I had never seen a "real live" Scottish Fold until
I met Dundee...he's ssoooooooo cute!! Very shy but bring
    	out the kitty tease......

I did not have the pleasure of seeing Bumpy sleep on her
head however....Brandi kind of does that too...but more
so her chin and neck are what you can see rather than
    	the top of her head......

    	gotta love these kitties!!

| | Boy, Nance,

I thought Dundee was a Daddy of 12 babies. What a litter that would
    have been.

Scottish Folds nasty?? I've met Dundee and he is such a love. He is
    also gorgeous.

I'm past my limit or I would consider one of the babies.

| | Oh I wanted to have Dundee father a litter, but my conscience got
the best of me. Since I had bought him as a pet I felt "honor bound"
to get him neutered. I'm not sorry I did. Males have some fairly
unpleasant habits when they're not neutered.

Paula - Don't fret. Just make sure you set the record straight
with those folks you told that Folds were nasty :-)

re: cost - I believe the going rate right now for a pet is $250.
Tony is more concerned with placing the cats in good homes than
making money. If you're interested get in touch with me and
I'll give you Tony's number. Maybe I'll even go over with you
to see the babies when the time is right. Of course, we still
don't know how many of the 12 will "fold". Its still too soon.
