I've tried this conferences keywords and I'm not a regular
reader or contributor...so I'll just ask the question:
Is there something special about a three colored, non sterile
male cat sometimes called a "money cat". This discussion
came up recently and I never heard of this but, as I explained to
those present, I knew where I could ask 10,000 people..... the
notesfiles... I had to explain notes... to the wonderment of all
and all were non-Deccies.
Thanks,
Jim

A three colored male cat is rare, but the cat should have Black,
Orange and White. Most of the time when a male cat has black and
orange or blue and cream, it is sterile. I have only seen one
tri-colored male, and that one was a kitten. Too early to tell
if it was going to "pack a loaded gun" or not!

If I understand this correctly, the only way you get a calico
male is if you have an XXY chromosome combination rather than
the XX for female or XY for male. That is why a male calico
is virtually always sterile.
