|  |     You might ask if they will accept an extra security deposit to cover 
    any damage that they are worried that the cats might do.  If you
    live in an apartment now, you might try getting a letter from your
    current landlord saying the cats haven't damaged anything.

|  |     Do you ask specifically about neutered, indoor cats or do you
    just ask about "pets".  I used to ask specifically if they
    would allow "two well-behaved, indoor, spayed female cats".
    
    In a previous note someone listed some places that they knew
    allowed cats.  I don't remember where tho.
    
    And yes, your landlord can evict you for breaking your lease
    so if you find a place that says you can have the cats, make
    them put it in writing on the lease.

    	Angela,
    
    	You might want to call a place called Bay Ridge...it's very
    	near ZKO in Nashua.  I don't know how much you want to spend
    	but you may want to give it a shot anyway.  A friend of mine
    	just moved in there and in some of the buildings they do 
    	allow pets.
    
    	I don't have the number but I'm sure information could give
    	it to you.

|  |     Bay Ridge is one place, (exit 1) and Forrest Ridge is another (exit 7)
    Mill Stone I believe also allows pets. We live at Cannongate III where
    they have townhouses and garden style living. If you rent it's up to
    the individual land lord if you have pets or not.
    
    Don't be discouraged, it's not easy, but it's not impossible either.
    
    There are usually many more places to rent this time of the year
    but once it gets closer to the kids going back to school it gets
    difficult again. You have plenty of time to look.

    I just went through the same excersise, and although I decided to
    hold off for a few months, I found that out of 10 adds called, 3 - 4
    would consider a spayed female cat.  I found a pleasant woman
    with a small dog who would allow my cat, provided things worked out
    with the animals in a reasonable amount of time.  she owned a nice
    house with a large wooded backyard, away from the crazy streets. 
    Purrfect hunting grounds...
    
    From talking to these real estate people, most large buildings
    will not allow pets because if they allow one person the privillage
    then they have to let everyone.  THe place gets run down and smells
    - not everyone will take care of their pets as well as 'you' do. (I looked
    at a three family w/ a 6 stall barn and every tenent had at least
    2 cats and a dog and horses.  The place was dirty, smelly...run down...
    I would not want my animals in that enviroment). 
    
    Well what I was getting at was try a two family situation or being 
    a roomate in someones house.  Its not much more $$$ and you get a yard
    for your cats.  Invite them to your house to check the "damage" ;^), I
    found that to work real well, and offer to rent on a trial basis, if
    the pet/appartment situation does not work out, then you leave.
    
    the other notes mentione extra security deposits and something
    written into the lease to protect yourself and pets...all excellent
    suggestions.  
    
    If you keep looking, you'll find something that will suit your needs,
    just be persistant and don't get discouraged!
