Abandoned Mom cat and her 4 six week old kittens need home(s) ASAP.
Mom one day showed up at a co-worker's barn and soon had 4 babies.
Co-worker is very allergic to cats and her husband doesn't like cats so
they need to be placed soon. Babies are still nursing as they've been
seen outside barn playing and nursing from Mom. Mom makes daily
hunting trips but always returns. Co-worker is not feeding Mom cat as
she didn't want to encourage her to stay. Needless to say if they
don't find homes before they get much bigger and not used to humans,
they may end up "wild" and unapproachable.
Only details I could get are:
Mom is black with white paws
two kittens are black
two kittens are gray/brown/white (which sounds
like Calico markings to me).
Since neither co-worker nor her husband want to get close to Mom cat
and kittens, it is unknown as to whether kittens are male or female.
Co-worker will be out for 6 weeks but if any interest in helping this
unfortunate feline family, please contact either Marlene Hurley or Ruth
Roache at CREKE::HURLEY or CREKE::ROACHE.

Gee, the least she could do is feed the mother so the kittens
and the mother will be healthy.

Well, I just found out that she was giving the mom cat some scraps from
her table and water. She's not a mean person by any means and I'm
sorry it came across that way. She just is so allergic to them she
can't get too close.
However, good news. Another Feline Noter has volunteered to pick up
Mom and her 4 babies tonight and bring them to the Concord Adopt-A-Cat
Shelter in Concord, MA. From there they will have the chance to be
adopted out to loving homes. This shelter, by the way, is on DEC's
Matching Gift list!

Oh good! It's hard to think that they would be going hungry
and thirsty. I'm sure she isn't mean - allergies are very
difficult to deal with. Wish her luck from me and my 18 !!
