    Well, the next time you bathe her - try Celsin (sp) Blue shampoo
    - works for dry skin.  Maybe add or mix a little higher fat food
    a little oil or butter with their dinner.
    

    Mom puts Cod Liver Oil on BeBee's food.  She bought a big jar of
    it after she got sick of squeezing out those little capsules.
    
    One month later and BeBee no longer has dry skin.

    Nancy, that sounds like a very good idea - probably better for
    them than butter or oil.  

    Good idea, maybe cod liver oil coming from a fish and all!!  Maybe
    Cali will like it.  She eats IAMS right now, and there's plenty
    of oil in that stuff and she has the few extra pounds to prove it!
    Gee, maybe this is just what I needed to happen, now that she doesn't
    like her food (with Linnetone in it) Cali won't eat so much and
    she'll loose a little of that extra weight.  This could be a blessing
    in disguise.
    
    
    
    Also, I thought that people shampoo was bad for cats or were you

    Well, I think that a lot of folk use people shampoo on cats,
    mostly people conditioners.  I've had better luck with the
    cat products with my guys.  But, I have had to use Celsin Blue
    (sp? how do ya spell it) on Timothy, who is the first cat I
    ever had in show.  The night before the Cats Plain & Fancy
    show, I looked at his all-black back near his tail and almost
    croaked!  It looked like it snowed all over himself!  I used  
    that dandruff people product and had good luck.  I wouldn't use
    it all the time - only when necessary.  Some folk only use flea
    shampoo before every show, and their cats look great.  I guess
    whatever works!  for you and for your particular cat's coat.
    One of my friend from Cincinnati shows a large brown tabby
    male (Chuck DunDee) and she uses head & shoulders on him.

    When I was showing Fire, he had quite a dandruff problem....He was
    bathed in Selsun Blue every week for over a year and his skin and
    coat were beautiful.  
    
    Recently, I have been buying Nolvalssan (sp) Flea Shampoo from my
    vet, and it leaves the coat on my Exotics shiney, shiney, shiney,
    and very soft and clean smelling.  I've been using it on Stripees
    during the entire show season this year.

    One word of warning....Cod Liver Oil can go bad, so you might want
    to keep an eye on it if your buying it in the large bottles.

    I think Cod Liver Oil lasts longer if you keep it in the refrigerator.

    What's the consistency of Linetone?  Is it a liquid, or more
    gooey?  If it's relatively gooey, you could try dabbing it on her paw
    and she'll lick it off.
    

    Linatone is a liquid, kind of the consistency of Cod Liver oil.
    
    I have always just dribbled on their food without any problems.
    My guys would eat no matter what I put on their food, little gluttons.

    My two won't wait till it gets to their food, they want to lick
    it right out of the lid (whoa, is that messy) or off a spoon.
    Mine are like Jo Ann's too, they'll eat anything no matter what
    is on it.
